China’s business aviation sector took a leap forward last year when the number of private jets registered in the country went into three figures for the first time, reaching a total of 116, according to a report published today by the Firestone Management Group.

BEIJING, Dec 22, 2010 (AFP) - After years of waiting for China to lift heavy restrictions on airspace, wealthy travelers and aircraft manufacturers have reason to celebrate -- the country's skies are opening up to private flights.
(Beijing, China, December 14, 2010) – Dassault Falcon recently established a sales and marketing office in Beijing which will be lead by Jean-Michel Jacob, Vice President of International Sales. “Firmly establishing Dassault’s presence in China today positions us to serve the needs of its growing business aviation sector with the highest level of support in the years to come,” said Jacob.
Minsheng Financial Leasing has signed a co-operation agreement with Cessna and plans to order 13 new business jets from several manufacturers in the next bank. The bank is also looking at building specialist executive airports.
The subsidiary of China's largest non-state owned bank ordered 17 aircraft in 2009 and 2010 - making it one of the biggest buyers of new jets - and has taken delivery of five aircraft in 2010.
The first LPS (Luxury Property Showcase) edition will be held in Beijing on Dec 10-12th 2010 at the Ritz-Carlton, Beijing, in the Hua Mao Center (No. 83A Jian Guo Road, Chaoyang District). The Show will present properties from all over the world in a glamorous atmosphere, combining exclusive properties, high-end interior design and luxury brands from overseas and from China.

After all the hype and false starts, China’s business jet fleet is not only expected to grow to 300 aircraft by the end of 2011, but with the growing enthusiasm from the Chinese nouveau-riche has a good chance of meeting that forecast.
The China Daily newspaper announced recently that Luxury Asia Ltd sold 15 business jets into China in 2009 and aims to sell 20 more this year.

The number of United States-dollar millionaires in China is set to nearly double in five years, luring private bankers eager to help them invest an expected combined wealth of more than USD7.6 trillion by 2013, Boston Consulting Group said yesterday.
Global wealth declined last year for the first time since 2001, BCG said, but the number of Chinese individuals with household financial wealth of more than USD1 million may grow to 788,000 by 2013 from 417,000 in 2008. (more...)
Avenue Princesse Grace is the most expensive street in the world to buy property, where $120,000 (€84,985) will purchase just one square metre of prime real estate, according to a survey by Wealth Bulletin.
Prime residential property on the top 10 most expensive streets in the world saw their overall value fall by 12% in the last year, the survey found, with European streets faring better than their US and emerging markets counterparts. (more...)
The HNA Group, China's fourth-largest aviation group, launched a business jet company in Shanghai yesterday as it eyes the growing demand from high-end customers during the World Expo to be held in the city next year.
Shanghai Deer Jet Co, with a registered capital of 300 million yuan (US$43.56 million), is based in the city's Pudong International Airport. Initially it will operate two jets. (more...)
